William Wegman (born 1943) is an author and visual artist whose paintings, drawings, videos, and photographs have been exhibited in museums and galleries internationally. He is best known for his work featuring his Weimaraners, a collaboration that began in the ’70s with his dog Man Ray and which continues today with Flo and Topper. Wegman and his dogs have appeared on David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Saturday Night Live and Sesame Street; in ad campaigns for Sony, Honda, Max Mara and Acne among others; and on the cover of numerous publications including the New Yorker and Vogue.  Recent exhibitions include Before/On/After: William Wegman and California Conceptualism at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; William Wegman: Being Human, which travelled throughout Europe and Asia and one man shows at Sperone Westwater Gallery in New York, Galerie Vallois in Paris and Huxley-Parlour in Paris.   A permanent installation of his work was recently installed in New York’s 23rd Street MTA subway station. His most recent publication is William Wegman: Writing by Artist, edited by Andrew Lampert (Primary Information). Wegman and his family divide their time between New York and Maine.
